Entertainer: Joey has been performing professionally since the age of ten. He works in many musical situations and has been a featured artist with the Omaha Symphony, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, and countless other musical groups. He entertains on cruise ships yearly, and has performed internationally in Japan, Europe and the Caribbean.

Educator: Since 1979, Joey has done hundreds of week-long residencies in schools sponsored by the Nebraska Arts Council and other agencies. He teaches music and works as a jazz clinician in schools and universities throughout the Midwest.

Musician: Joey began studying music at the age of six and plays many instruments. He specializes in the field of percussion and has acquired a collection of instruments from all over the world. Joey's sounds can be heard on various commercials, soundtracks, and on the newest of over 50 recordings "Summer Magic" with Ron Cooley, and "The Good Life" with The Headliners.

Vocalist Heidi Joy grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and has sung professionally since the age of fifteen for hundreds of weddings, private parties, corporate events, and fund raisers. Heidi studied voice with nationally known vocalists/conductors Almeda Berkey and Dr Z Randall Stroope. Heidi majored in Opera Performance at the University of Iowa. As an experienced singer, Heidi is touted as the region’s most “versatile voice,” performing jazz, gospel, inspirational, spiritual, funk, blues, rock, and classical genres.

Heidi is a 2-time OEA Award Winner and 7-time OEA Award Nominee. She performed to thousands with backup band, The Jazz wholes, at the Joslyn Art Museum's acclaimed Jazz on the Green music series in August, 2006.

She lives and performs in Omaha these days, but I think many of us in the rest of the world will want Susie Thorne to get out more. She's a very cool and captivating singer who is able to bring a refreshingly original sensibility to songs of various stripes. Playful and creative with melodies and shifting rhythms, and very capable at scat-singing, she's very much a jazz vocalist with solid jazz musicians just as ready to experiment.
